Itinerary
We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience.
At the appointed time, we will pick you up at your hotel in Belo Horizonte to begin the tour. Are you ready to visit two cities in Minas Gerais with a rich history?
Our first destination will be the city of Ouro Preto, founded in 1711. The city has the largest and most important historical and architectural collection from the colonial era in Brazil, which is why it was one of the first municipalities in the world to be chosen as a World Heritage Site in 1980.
We will take a walking tour through the famous streets and hills of Ouro Preto to learn a little about its history. We will pass by Tiradentes Square and tell you about the important role this rebel played in Brazil’s history while we admire the city’s most beautiful colonial buildings.
We will also see the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, a temple built in the Baroque style with Rococo elements, and the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar, while learning more about the importance of these buildings to the history of the city. Next, we will visit the Casa dos Contos Museum, a building dating from 1782 that has played various roles throughout history. We will also pass by the historic and trendy Rua Direita, located on a steep slope typical of the city.
