The Corcovado and Christ the Redeemer. From anywhere in the city, visitors can see the most beautiful postcard of Rio de Janeiro: Christ the Redeemer on the Corcovado mountain. Tour. Sugarloaf Mountain and the Panoramic City Tour. This tour begins with a tour of the center of Rio de Janeiro, with highlights including the Sambadrome, where the world’s most famous carnival parades take place, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the traditional Cinelandia with the Municipal Theater, the National Library, and the Assembly building. After touring the center, the tour continues through the Flamengo neighborhood towards Urca, where you’ll find the other symbol of the city of Rio de Janeiro: Sugarloaf Mountain, which, in the Guarani language, means “high, pointed, and isolated mountain.” It was at the foot of this hill that the city of Rio de Janeiro was founded by Estacio de Sá in 1565. The visit to Sugarloaf Mountain is carried out in two stages by a cable car, the famous “bondinho,” suspended by steel cables. The first stage connects Vermelha Beach to Morro de Urca, located at 215 meters in altitude, offering views of Guanabara Bay and its islands. From Morro de Urca, the second part of the ascent towards Sugarloaf Mountain at 395 meters in altitude begins, where you can observe a unique view of Copacabana Beach. After spending time on the Sugarloaf balconies, you will proceed to descend using the same “bondinho.” Your transportation will be waiting at the foot of the hill to take you back to the hotel. Embark on the Guanabara Bay Tour after breakfast, departing from Gloria Marina. You’ll explore stunning spots, including Flamengo Beach, Botafogo, Urca, Sugarloaf Mountain, São João Fortress, and Lage Fortress. The tour continues to Niteroi, where you’ll see Santa Cruz Fortress and beautiful beaches. Amidst nature, you’ll witness the impressive Niteroi Museum of Contemporary Art. The journey also covers the Rio-Niteroi Bridge, Enxadas Islands, Cobras Islands, Fiscal Island, and more. After this enriching experience, return to your hotel. Enjoy a free afternoon!
